The Financial Cauldron - National Debt

The Financial Cauldron

Into the cauldron pot
Fall crumbling stocks
Brown bullfrog, serpent snakes
And roly-poly fat cats
A good cauldron makes

Bubbles and bubbles, blowing
Of easy credit over-flowing
Whistling and overheating the pot
With green custard and mustard hot

Banks sliced and chopped
Into the cauldron dropped
Ladled and laden with loans
Gone sour and rotten

Skeletons, long forgotten
Rise out of cupboards
Wailing, hell-bound
Trailing the pot
Round and round

Into which plops
Jam-filled pension pots
And ill-gotten
Golden-crusted bonus pies
Filled with greed
And set to rise

And media spin
Sprinkled in
For good measure
Bad news -
- always a pleasure !
Stoking and stroking
The flames of the fire

All melting into a toxic brew
Ingredients for a poisonous stew

The scene is set
Foggy, murky and muggy
The spell has been cast
A financial jinx
That will never pass

And for society
To be mugged -
Burdened with a debt
It has yet to collect
A debt that will last...
And last...
And last...
